Yesterday in Salt Lake City the sun was shining and it was starting to feel more like spring than the middle of February! I realized how ready I am for the weather to warm up. I am totally more of a spring/summer type of gal. I just love wearing cute dresses and skirts over big chunky sweaters and giant jackets. Yesterday it was just warm enough to get away with wearing a skirt.

Anyways I put on this 70’s inspired suede button-front skirt with my new favorite pair of wedge sandals and headed downtown with my girlfriends. I have been seeing a lot of these suede skirts over the past year and I think they are a great staple for any woman’s closet. I especially love this brown color because it can go with many different colors. I also love the pockets in front. It gives it an extra little touch. It is the perfect skirt for a girls day out. Nothing too fancy but still looks nice!

I thought that pairing this skirt with the light pink floral blazer was very springy. Florals are always fun for spring/summer. I love how the light pink gives this outfit a little pop of color. I actually bought this blazer last spring at Nordstrom. The brand is Lush and I have not been able to find this exact one anywhere online but there are similar ones out there. I think it is totally okay to mix older pieces of clothing with some new and more trendy pieces. Some of my favorite clothing pieces I have had forever!

Utah weather is so bipolar that I am sure tomorrow I will be all bundled up in my favorite jacket and UGG boots! However it was fun for today getting in the mood for spring. I can’t wait to continue sharing my spring fashion ideas with you!

Style Tips for Suede Skirts

•For chilly days wear tights underneath

•wear some fabulous flats to dress it down a bit or for comfort

•Tuck a t-shirt in for those causal days

Sorry I can’t find the exact floral blazer I am wearing but here are some awesome alternatives:
