A Weekend in Zion National Park

May 18, 2016

This past weekend Andrew and I took a camping trip to Zion National Park. Camping and hiking are two of my favorite things to do. It is always nice to unplug for the weekend and be surrounded by nature. It gives me time to slow down and recharge.

On Saturday morning we packed up the car and started on our way to Zion. It was about a three hour drive. When we got there the park was packed and so we parked outside of the park and took the shuttle in.

On the shuttle

The first hike we did was the Emerald Pools Hike. It was an easier hike and just about 2 miles long. The pools along the way were gorgeous! We wanted to do another hike but we got kind of a late start so we just decided to head down to our car and go set up camp.

Our friend was fighting in an MMA fight at Sand Hollow State Park so we decided to go camp in the State Park so we would be close to his fight. Our friends Matt & Crystal came to camp with us as well. We set up camp, relaxed in our hammocks and then went to our friend’s fight. I was having trouble falling asleep so I laid in my hammock and eventually fell asleep. I woke up FREEZING!

The next day we decided to go on Taylor’s Creek Trail. It was about a 4.5 mile hike. As we were hiking Matt asked Andrew how long it was supposed to take us to do the hike. Andrew replied, β€œThe map says about 3 hours but if your girlfriend is a blogger about 6.” Haha so true! I kept stopping and taking pictures!

Our last stop was to this beautiful lookout! We drove up and the hike was about a mile round trip. I was amazed by all the green since we were in the desert. It was absolutely gorgeous!

Matt likes to live on the edge! SCARY I know…

I can’t wait for our next adventure! Scroll down to see a video of our trip! <3
